My garden could be considered art work, I guess. My canvas is the small patch of ground that is my front yard.

March 23

Iris Reticulata

Japanese Cutleaf Maple
just leafing out

Garden path.

April 14, 2002

Dicentra, again.
They must like the places
I have them, since they
are multilplying for me.

April 14, 2003

Some of my favorite daffodils. Unusual for me, since I tend to like flowers closer to the wild type. These are very fragrant and I have forgotten what they are named. Below are more daffodils. I love daffodils.

April 14, 2003.

I think these are called snowdrops. They came up unexpectedly. I suspect I ordered and planted them and then forgot. Absentmindedness does reward one with surprises.

April 14, 2003.

Brunneria. I have forgotten
the variety.

April 14, 2003.

A grape hyacinth. I don't think this variety
likes my garden much. I had a bunch of them last year,
but only 2 this spring.

April 14, 2003.

Heuchera.
Love the foliage.

April 19, 2003

These little beauties showed up this year.
I knew they were there, since the foliage
has shown up the last couple of years, and
I think I actually remember buying them, but
this year they have actually bloomed. They
are mini iris, about 10 inches tall.

April 19, 2003

A portrait of one of the above.

April 19, 2003

These little iris are just a bit
taller than the above. They are
also newcomers to my garden.

April 19, 2003.

A peek inside one of the above.

April 19, 2003

A bit of fun in the digital darkroom.

April 22, 2003

My signature columbine,
Aquilegia vulgaris,
in the bud.

April 22, 2003.

Front path. I was intrigued
by the foliage of the two iris
in the mid-ground.

April 22, 2003

Poeticus daffodils.
A little earlier than I remember them.

April 22, 2003.

More bleeding hearts.
The blue out-of-focus flowers
in the background are
pulmonaria.

April 22, 2003

Heuchera foliage again.

And again...

April 22, 2003

Trillium

Trillium again. They remind me of
some of my fractal pictures.

April 22, 2003.

A bit of Japanese painted fern
peeking through columbine leaves.

April 22, 2003.

An inherited small evergreen bush.
I always like the way the new green
shows up against the old green.
